Today was again quite hot, so I didn’t do any exploring. I did have my first day of classes though, which went well all things considered. The final class of the day for me is speaking practice, and I found the goal of today’s lesson to be quite easy (to the surprise of nobody, I’m sure.) After classes, Jacob, Kathy, and I had a craving for something cold to drink, so we went out and searched for interesting drinks: we found Fanta Apple, which was really super good as well as “Russian” Kvass – Russian in quotes because the store was very clear that this kvass was made in Kyrgyzstan, and as a native Portlander I couldn’t resist the local label. Finally, the day closed out with a storm that has cooled things down nicely.
